Mother Nature wailed in anguish… enraged by humanity's destructive ways. Her arrows of vengeance were unleashed, marking the forthcoming of a great plague.
Humanity found itself tormented by heinous creatures; mutated beasts of fang and claw that relentlessly prowled the lands, impervious to all manner of weaponry.
Mankind was rendered vulnerable and defenseless, staring straight into the eye of extinction.
The few survivors had but two options: be hunted as prey, or retreat and gradually succumb to starvation and disease. They abandoned all they had and fled to find refuge in the mountains.
The small Fort City of Melaka became their safe haven. Cradled by the majestic Titiwangsa mountain range, it was impenetrable to conquerors and enemies.
Political and industrial leaders dispatched all necessary materials and resources to aid the completion of the Fort City and its impenetrable Defence Wall.
They gathered any surviving scientists, doctors, strategists, and soldiers within the walls. The gates were shut on the rest.
Your quest awaits, adventurer. Will you fight to protect Melaka?
Having chosen to fight, you gaze upon the stronghold with awe. A cacophony of noise reverberates through it, akin to the beating of a heart.
Rising clearly above the din, you hear the the sounds of training in progress, emanating from what must be the barracks.
You soon find your attention drawn by a gleaming building in the centre of the stronghold, replete with an imposing tower. You recognise it as The Academy, housing the War Room of the Admirals.
Not just an administrative centre, The Academy serves as a school, educating the younger generation. The National Library, a repository of information & culture, sits within the Academy, open to all who wish to learn about, or relive, the past.
Tearing your gaze away, you follow the Defence Wall, stopping at the Gate. It and the buildings around it form the Mission Ops Centre - a deployment and debrief area for troops.
You feel the butterflies dancing within your stomach as the sheer weight of your choice finally kicks in. It will be exciting, yes - but also dangerous.
